The instrument body is made from premium ash wood, which is denser and heavier than many common wood species, and is milled and drilled from a single solid piece of wood.
Although this method costs more, it avoids the bonded joints used in conventional laminated wood construction, which may fail, split or become damaged after prolonged exposure to internal heat, thereby greatly extending service life.
From the earliest design stage, multiple experiments and tests were conducted before common materials such as plastic and metal were rejected in favor of natural wood.
Apart from its greater overall weight, wood offers many advantages: it stays comfortable to touch, does not rust, resists deformation, can decompose naturally, is more environmentally responsible and has an elegant appearance.
