Following the successful development of the "Accurate CT & Lux Lamp Portable - Genesis", we received valuable feedback from many test users. These included requests for advanced features such as "Increased illuminance energy", "Automatic adjustment and locking of illuminance levels", "Expanded color temperature range", "quick selection of multiple international standard color temperatures", "Multiple power sources, temperature control, and eye protection" and "easy folding for seamless transition between locations". The R&D team continued their efforts and, in early 2025, completed the prototype testing of the "Accurate CT & Lux Lamp Desktop - Genesis", Below are the details of this new model, with previously described features omitted for brevity. Please refer to the "Accurate CT & Lux Lamp Portable - Genesis" page for further details.
 
Background of Development
 
In this vibrant world, one fundamental requirement is "LIGHT". Without light, no matter how beautiful a scene is, it would remain in darkness, even though the colors inherently exist.

Even with light, its accuracy and intensity significantly impact color perception. Hence the saying:

Without light, cannot see color;

Light is not right, the color must be wrong.

The Importance of Correct Lighting
 
If lighting is incorrect, the colors of illuminated objects will be inaccurate. This often leads to misunderstandings between Clients vs. Designers, or between Designers vs. Manufacturers , causing unnecessary waste and uncertainty.
 
 
Clear Light Information Display
 
A clear and intuitive display of light information is provided. Adjustments can be easily managed via a stable and reliable knob, while the top handle ensures effortless and precise changes to the lighting angle and position.
 
 
Traditional Analog vs. Modern Digital
 
Traditional color-matching lamps typically have a few buttons for switching color temperatures, and brightness adjustments are limited to two levels. This makes them ineffective in handling special requirements.
 
 
The newly developed "Accurate CT & Lux Lamp Desktop - Genesis" delivers up to 4800Lx at a 45cm distance from the tabletop and maintains an impressive 1700Lx even at a 95cm distance. In contrast, many traditional devices struggle to reach 500Lx.

Achieving high brightness means that dimming capabilities are also superior. Conversely, if a device can only reach a maximum of around 2000Lx, extending the distance results in dim and indistinct visuals, obscuring details.
 
 
Unlike traditional color-matching lightboxes, which are restrictive in illumination range, the "Accurate CT & Lux Lamp Desktop - Genesis" offers a broader coverage, making it ideal for large-scale designs or creative work.
 
 
Traditional lightboxes rely on fluorescent tubes for color temperature adjustments and use outdated analog circuitry, lacking digital intelligent control. Additionally, their heavy weight and difficulty in assembly and transport make them highly inconvenient for mobile use.
 
 
On the other hand, the newly developed "Accurate CT & Lux Lamp Desktop - Genesis" has a very wide effective irradiation area. In comparison, you can feel how frustrating traditional equipment is.
 
 
If users still prefer performing color calibration within a box, the specially designed "Ultra-Lightweight Calibration Box", can be paired with the device. Simply extend the unit over the top of the box and secure it in place. The device operates immediately upon power-up, maintaining full access to the control knobs and display screen. At the default 45cm distance, it provides optimal illumination for any object.

The box is foldable for easy transport, eliminating concerns about location changes and enabling color calibration work anywhere.

The interior is coated with four layers of internationally standardized 18% gray special paint, ensuring faithful color reproduction without interference from ambient light reflections.
 
 
Additionally, the "Adjustable Viewing Stand" (300mm x 300mm x 6mm, weighing 135g) made of hollow PP plastic board facilitates smooth showcasing and photography tasks while conveniently storing within the calibration box.

Versatile Applications
 
The heavy-duty support arm extends up to 90cm, allowing illumination even below the tabletop or in unconventional positions, such as upward projection.
 
 
As the nature and scale of design projects are unpredictable, having a versatile and adaptable tool is always better than being unprepared.
 
 
"Stability" Matters
 
For aesthetics and quality, the outer casing is CNC-milled from a "Single block of solid wood" rather than being glued from multiple pieces or made of molded plastic or stamped metal. All electronic components are compactly assembled, with the motherboard and light board adjacent for durability. Nearly 97% of the screws and fasteners are "High-grade 304 stainless steel" and "Aluminum" alloy to prevent rusting and ensure longevity.

Due to the device's substantial weight, standard stands were inadequate, necessitating a custom heavy-duty stand.

The R&D team redesigned the base, reinforcing stability while making it easy to disassemble and expanding its contact surface with the tabletop to prevent damage.

This redesign also provided a dedicated space for the power adapter, preventing it from lying on the floor.

The hard work of colleagues
 
A magnetic strip and stainless steel sheet are installed on the front panel, allowing users to attach reference documents. This eliminates the need for repetitive head movements, reducing strain during extended work sessions.
 
 
Certified Accuracy
 
The display provides real-time lighting data, all verified by international laboratories rather than being arbitrarily claimed by the R&D team.

These records serve as reliable references for Proposals, Prototyping, Production, Quality control, and Acceptance, minimizing color discrepancies.

The various working modes are summarized below.
 
 
Manual Mode (M mode):
This mode is entered by default after powering on. The color temperature and illumination can be adjusted arbitrarily through the Two knobs on the Left and Right, and the actual output will be immediately displayed on the screen.

Pay attention to the distance when adjusting, because the automatic distance measurement function is not activated in this mode. This is to prevent the waving of hands or tools from causing the program to continuously calculate and adjust the light output, thus causing the illumination to keep changing, which will make it impossible to do anything.
 
Automatic Mode (A mode):
Press the Right knob once to enter this mode.
The illumination just adjusted in Manual mode / M mode will be recorded. At this time, no matter you move closer or farther away, the instrument will automatically adjust the illumination. Starting from the center point of the instrument, the farthest object that can be detected is two meters away.

Therefore, the function of the Left knob to adjust the illumination will be temporarily frozen, but the Right knob can still adjust the color temperature.

In this mode, two small symbols and values will appear on the right side of the screen, which are the Left and Right tilt and Pitch tilt angle values for the user's reference.
 
Lock Mode (L mode):
Double-tap the Right knob to enter this mode.

The color temperature and illuminance previously adjusted in Manual mode / M mode will be recorded, and the instrument will lock the set values. At this time, the illuminance output will not change whether you move closer or farther away.

Moreover, both knobs will be temporarily frozen, and the color temperature and illumination cannot be adjusted, because this is what is called Locking.

If you want to reset a different color temperature and illumination, press the Right knob continuously to return to the Manual mode / M mode. After completing the new setting of the color temperature and illumination, press the Right knob twice to return to the Lock mode / L mode.

As in the previous item, in this mode, two small symbols and values will appear on the right side of the screen, providing the tilt angle value for the user's reference.
 
Professional Mode (P mode):
Press the Right knob three times to enter this mode.

In this mode, you can choose seven different internationally commonly used standard color temperatures:
UV365,
F-2700K,
A-2856K,
TL83-3000K,
TL84-4000K,
CWF-4150K,
D65-6500K
.

Just like the Auto mode / A mode, the illumination adjusted in the Manual mode / M mode will be recorded. At this time, no matter you move closer or farther away, the instrument will automatically adjust the illumination. Starting from the center point of the instrument, the farthest object that can be detected is two meters away.

If you want to reset a different illumination level, press the Right knob continuously to return to Manual mode / M mode. After setting the new illumination level, press the Right knob three times to return to Professional mode / P mode.
 
Suspend Mode (Take a Break):
When you need to eat, go to the bathroom, answer the phone, or hold an impromptu meeting, but don't want to shut down the device, and then have to set the color temperature and illumination again after restarting the device, you can tap the Left knob and the light panel will turn off immediately. The original settings will be recorded, and you can tap either the "Left" or "Right" knob to exit the sleep mode.

The upper right corner of the screen in this mode will display the current internal ambient temperature of the instrument.

Whether the fan is running or not is entirely determined by the set illumination and the internal ambient temperature of the instrument. Unless the power switch is turned off, even if it enters sleep mode, the fan may continue to run until the temperature drops and then stop automatically.

Similarly, if the preset illumination is exceeded or the internal temperature is too high, the fan will start automatically. The user can ignore it (it seems that it is impossible to ignore it...). The user only needs to Remember to clean the dust stuck on the fan blades regularly.

As we reflect on the past two years of exploration and breakthroughs, we recall the beginning of our journey in 2018, when we first started designing the "Accurate CT & Lux Lamp Portable - Genesis".

Throughout this time, we were met with skepticism and ridicule from friends, family, suppliers, and clients. However, despite the challenges, our team never gave up.

We overcame countless obstacles to complete the development of this project, and we have now gone even further, creating a more advanced device "Accurate CT & Lux Lamp Desktop - Genesis".

Looking back on these years of hardship, it is evident that every team member made a bold choice. Instead of taking an easy path, we chose the difficult road of innovation, often working late into the night, only to return home to the dim glow of a single lamp in the living room.

The journey of invention is one of solitude, and for that reason, we named this product "Homebound". Since this is our first version, we gave it the identifier "Genesis".
